Omilon strengthens its focus going forward, Martin Elster appointed new CEO

Martin Elster will take over as CEO of Omilon from Nicolay Moulin. The leadership change follows Moulin’s decision to move on to new challenges outside the company.
Omilon provides solutions in speech recognition, medical documentation and AI-based ambient scribe technology to hospitals, municipalities and private healthcare providers in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The company’s roots date back to the mid-20th century and build on the technology and innovation legacy of Max Manus. For nearly 80 years, Omilon has been a pioneer in technology that improves communication and documentation in the healthcare sector, with a clear ambition to free up more time for patient care and human interaction.
Elster has for several years been a key member of Omilon’s management team as COO and has worked closely with Moulin on the company’s strategy, development and growth. With deep knowledge of the market, customers, technology and partner ecosystem, he now takes over leadership at a time of significant opportunity for the company.
“Martin knows the company, the customers and the market very well. He has been a central part of Omilon’s development in recent years and, together with Nicolay, has helped build the strategy and direction the company is now following. He is therefore very well positioned to lead Omilon into its next phase,” says Ingo Behrendt, CEO of NEXUS.
Omilon recently became part of NEXUS, one of Europe’s leading companies in healthcare technology. The ambition is to further develop Omilon’s strong position in Scandinavia, while also scaling the company’s technology and expertise in a rapidly developing European market.
“The acquisition shows how attractive the technology and expertise built up in Omilon are, also from a European perspective. We see significant potential for further growth, and Martin is the right person to lead this work together with the rest of the Omilon team,” says Behrendt.
Elster emphasizes that continuity and the continuation of the current strategy will be central.
“Omilon has a strong professional environment, solid customer relationships and technology that addresses the needs of a rapidly developing market. Nicolay and I have worked closely together on the direction of the company and on the most important initiatives we have already put in motion. For me, this is first and foremost about continuing and executing the strategy we are already working from, while also continuing to develop in close collaboration with NEXUS and the rest of the group,” says Elster.
He also underlines that the company is entering its next phase with a strong foundation and high ambitions.
“We have strong customer relationships in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, a highly skilled organization and technology that meets the needs of a market changing at high speed. I look forward to taking this on together with the rest of the team,” says Elster.
At the same time, Nicolay Moulin is thanked for his contribution as CEO. “Nicolay has played an important role in the development of Omilon. He has helped build structure, organization and direction during a period of significant market change. He has also played a central role in the process that resulted in Omilon becoming part of NEXUS. We thank Nicolay for his contribution and wish him the best of luck in his future,” says Behrendt.
The leadership change is marked by continuity, with close cooperation between the outgoing and incoming CEOs over several years.
